He has been invited as a Guest Speaker for UGC sponsored seminars and a visiting faculty for different professional institutions from time to time. He was awarded with UGC Teacher-Fellowship in the session 1996-97. on Industrial Sickness in the Department of Business Management, University of Calcutta. He is a Life Member of Indian Accounting Association. He is also former Technical Advisor of the ICFAI, Calcutta and a former Flexi Faculty of IISWBM and BSE Training Institute Ltd., Kolkata. He was also acted as a visiting faculty in the Department of Dairy technology of WBUFAS. Roy was the Bursar and Teacher –in – Charge (Evening Shift), New Alipore College for five years and six years respectively. He has previously served at Bethuadahari College, Nadia as a Selection Grade Lecturer and New Alipore College, Kolkata as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce, before joining this institution. He has 27 years of teaching Experience. Pankaj Kumar Roy joined as Principal at Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri College on 2nd July 2015.

The aim of this college was to provide higher education to people from the lowest economic strata of Society and this mission is still being pursued earnestly. The college started functioning from June 1965 as a co-educational institution. The buildings were remodelled to suit the purposes of a modern college with all possible amenities for students and teachers. In 1964, at the instance and initiative of Late Ranadeb Chaudhuri and with active co-operation of some eminent educationist and persons of public spirit, who formed the first Governing Body of this college, two commodious building on the main thoroughfare of Prince Anwar Shah Road were acquired to house the college.
